Here are some of the established fertility related abbreviations and acronyms. I did NOT make these up!

WARNING: some of these you may consider “gross” or just plain TMI…

AF: Aunt Flo (period, menses, The Witch)

BD: Baby Dance (having sex <*blush*>)

BFN: Big Fat Negative (negative home pregnancy test)

BFP: Big Fat Positive (positive home pregnancy test)

CD: Cycle Day

CM: Cervical Mucus (yup, we talk about that)

DH: Dear Husband

DPO: Days Past Ovulation

EWCM: Eggwhite Cervical Mucus (very fertile)

HPT: Home Pregnancy Test

IUI: Intra Uterine Insemination (simple 5 minute procedure where the sperm is washed and inserted into the uterus via a catheter)

IVF: In Vitro Fertilization (a whole different ballgame, wiki can explain it better)

OPK: Ovulation Predictor Kit (not a “kit” but a test stick to show if you are nearing ovulation)

PIAC: Pee in a cup (pregnancy test or OPK test via a cup)

POAS: Pee on a stick (I never actually do this, always PIAC)
